BILLINGS, Mont.- The Montana State Billings Women's Cross-Country team wrapped up their 2024 season Saturday afternoon at the NCAA Regional Meet in Billings, MT. The women competed against thirty other schools across the West Region under blue skies at Amend Park, placing 23
rd overall as a team, marking multiple personal records from the seven Yellowjacket runners.
Cecily Eagleton was the first to cross the finish line at the NCAA D2 West Region Championships, finishing with a time of 23 minutes flat in 86
th place and shaving 46 seconds off her previous best 6K that she set at the GNAC Championships.
Madeline Severson finished close behind in 90
th place overall at 23 minutes and seven seconds, crushing her previous 6K personal best time of 24:01 in her final cross-country race as a Yellowjacket.
Following Severson was
Carey Berendsen who finished with a time of 23:55, coming in 139
th place amongst the field of 192 runners. A consecutive trio would come in next for the Yellowjackets with
Gabi Becker finishing in 160
th place at 24:59,
Toree Manning in 161
st at 25:04, and
Chloe Shennum in 162
nd at 25:06. Freshman
Sara McCabe rounded out the 'Jackets with a final time of 25:30 and coming in 169
th place overall.
The Regional meet marks the finale for the Yellowjackets 2024 cross country season before the athletes begin indoor track season.
