Montana State University Billings Athletics

Throughout each academic year, MSUB Athetics has a number of special events that it hosts which support and feature the Yellowjackets and the university as a whole. Some of these events, like MSUB's Scholarship Dinner Auction, the Hall of Fame and Distinction induction ceremony, and the Yellowjacket Golf Tournament, are recurring events that are scheduled for each and every year. Other special events include championship hosting opportunities, such as the NCAA Men's & Women's Cross Country West Region Championships and the GNAC Men's and Women's Basketball Championships.

Yellowjacket Scholarship Dinner Auction	Annually in October
	MSUB's annual scholarship dinner auction is the largest fundraiser for Yellowjacket Athletics. Taking place each October, the event features a live auction and silent auction with all proceeds directly benefitting MSUB's scholarship fund for its student-athletes. The 2019 event raised more than $62,000 for Yellowjacket student-athletes.
MSUB Hall of Fame & Distinction Induction Ceremony	Annually in January/February
	The MSUB Hall of Fame and Distinction honors Yellowjacket athletes and teams who achieved extraordinary landmarks and contributed significantly to their programs during their careers. Every year, a class of candidates are enshrined during the induction ceremony and dinner social.
Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society Induction Ceremony	Annually in April
	The Chi Alpha Sigma National Honor Society is recognized across the United States as an organization which distinguishes outstanding academic achievement while competing in varsity sports at the collegiate level. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must maintain a 3.40 cumulative grade point average while participating in a varsity sport.
The Buzzies	Annually in April
	The Buzzies are MSUB's annual awards show, recognizing the most outstanding achievements in Yellowjacket Athletics in each academic year. Award categories include Male and Female Athlete of the Year, Team of the Year, and various other special honors which cover each of MSUB's varsity teams.
Yellowjacket Golf Tournament	Annually in June
	MSUB's annual golf tournament is a key fundraising effort for Yellowjacket Athletics. Typically the tournament fills with 34 teams participating in the event at Lake Hills Golf Course. Golfers compete for prizes and the overall title while supporting MSUB student-athletes.
