LOGAN, Uta.- Highlighting the Montana State University Yellowjacket women's cross-country team at the Steve T. Reeder Memorial Invitational in Logan, UT,
Madeline Severson led the way for the Yellowjackets with a personal record 5K. Severson crossed the line first for the 'Jackets at 20:43, coming in 45
th place overall.
HEAR FROM COACH WOEHL: "The women had a good day, the course was challenging but they continue to improve in competing and racing. Madeline and Carey seem to get better each week, teaming up and pushing each other. They did a great job of passing several runners late in the race which was great to see."
Right behind Severson was
Carey Berendsen who also cracked the top 50, crossing the finish line at 20:59 and coming in 49
th place amongst the 75 competitors. The third runner to cross the line for the Yellowjackets was
Cecily Eagleton, who finished with a 5K time of 21:21, coming in 56
th place. Next for the women was true freshman
Sara McCabe and transfer
Gabi Becker. McCabe broke the sub-22-minute mark at 21:56 in 63
rd place and Becker at 22:26 in 67
th. Rounding it out for the 'Jackets was
Toree Manning in 68
th at 22:42,
Chloe Shennum in 70
th at 23:14, and
Emma Weaver in 72
nd at 24:43.
THE BUZZ: Madeline Severson was named Intermountain Health Performer of the Day.
