Feature Story: Setting The Bar High: Kyndal Williams Assists 'Jackets Throughout Stellar 4-Year Career
Williams was a four-year starter and never missed a set in her stellar career with the 'Jackets. Williams had an immediate impact as a freshman, ranking fourth in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference in assists per set with 10.1. By her junior year, Williams had fully emerged into the team captain and earned the first of her two honorable mention all-GNAC accolades.
Â
Williams' top season for assists was 2014, when she totaled 1,043 to tie for the ninth-highest mark in MSUB single-season history. She added 1,022 assists as a senior and finished her career No. 2 in school history with 4,019 assists in her four seasons. Williams also racked up 81 service aces in her career, ranking her No. 10 in school history in that category.
Â
Williams also earned a GNAC Player of the Week honor, was a three-time academic all-GNAC selection, and was named the MSUB Volleyball Player of the Year as a senior in 2015.
Â
Williams on what she's most proud of in her athletic career: "I'm proud of finishing it. There were times I felt like giving up, but I kept pushing on and working hard year after year. I'm certainly very thankful I was able to be a college athlete, compete at a really high level, and travel to some pretty cool places."
Â
Casey Williams on Kyndal Williams: "When I think of MSUB volleyball, I think of Kyndal Williams. She had a great attitude, she was dedicated to the program, and she was a very talented setter. She had a huge impact on the program and represented her home state well."
Â
Where is she now? Williams currently resides in San Diego and is a service coordinator at the San Diego Regional Center.

The Reserve
Brooke Tolman
Position: Setter
Hometown: Honeyville, Utah
Playing Years: 2010-2011 (2 seasons)
Â
Entering the Yellowjacket program with two years of collegiate experience under her belt, Tolman provided key leadership during her two-year career at the start of the decade. In just two seasons with the 'Jackets, Tolman ascended to No. 6 in school history with 1,772 assists.
Â
Tolman ranked in the top-10 in the GNAC in assists in each of her seasons on the court for MSUB, and earned honorable mention all-conference recognition in both 2010 and 2011. Tolman reached double figures in assists in all 55 matches that she played, and reached her career high of 52 assists on two separate occasions.
Â
In addition to her leadership on the court in the setter role, Tolman was an academic all-GNAC and an academic all-district selection during her senior season in 2011. Upon completing her volleyball career, Tolman spent two seasons on the Yellowjacket women's basketball team as a guard and averaged 8.2 points per game as a senior.
