HUNTLEY, Mont. – After finishing the first round in a deadlock with Rocky Mountain College, the Montana State University Billings men's golf team fired its second straight 292 in the second round to edge the Battlin' Bears and claim the team title at the 2015 St. Vincent Healthcare Yellowjacket Spring Invitational Tuesday at Pryor Creek Golf Club.

MSU Billings finished with a 584 (292-292) during the two-round event, defeating Rocky Mountain College by six strokes (590, 292-298).

"Our men played very well today and battled until the end," commented MSUB head coach Shawn O'Brien. "Jake played extraordinarily well shooting two under on the day and five under for the tournament."

Jake Hedge finished in second place overall, with a 3-under par 139 (69-70) over the two rounds. Hedge finished with 22 pars, eight birdies and one eagle over the 36 total holes in the tournament.

Also in the top-5 for the 'Jackets was
Houston Bradbury, who finished tied for third place with a two-round total of 144 (73-71). The senior led the tournament field with 28 pars and he also had four birdies over his two rounds.

In eighth place for the Yellowjackets was
Austin Westphal, shooting a 149 (77-72). The senior shaved five strokes off of his first-round total, finishing with 24 pars and four birdies.

Austin Berg tied for 13th place overall, with a two-round total of 152 (73-79). Berg, a freshman, made par 23 times and added four birdies.

Parker Bradbury completed the field for the Yellowjackets, finishing in 31st place with a score of 164 (77-87). Freshman
Dalton Hagadone also participated in the tournament, scoring a 162 (82-80) as an individual.

Taking home medalist honors was Taylor Noble of Rocky Mountain College, who finished with a 137 by following his first-round 66 with a 71 on Day 2. Noble matched
Houston Bradbury for the tournament-high with 28 pars, and led the field with 10 birdies.

Joining Noble, Hedge, and Bradbury on the all-tournament team was Walker Hoolehan of South Dakota Mines, who finished tied for third with a 144 (75-69), and Connor Hausauer of Carroll College who finished fifth with a 145 (76-69).
Bradbury earned the St. Vincent Healthcare Player of the Day honors as he improved two strokes over his Round 1 total and ensure the team win for the 'Jackets.

"Today's performance will give our team good momentum moving into Arizona next week," O'Brien said.

NEXT UP: The 'Jackets are set to compete in the Western New Mexico Invitational on April 6-7 at the Palm Valley Golf Course in Goodyear, Ariz. MSUB will then compete in the Cal State Stanislaus Invitational the following week before the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships at the Coeur d'Alene Resort on April 20-21.
