LAKEWOOD, Colo. – The Montana State University Billings' women's golf team shot a 646 to finish third at the Regis Invitational Tuesday.

The Yellowjackets were led by Katie Fish's 11th place finish. The sophomore shot a team-best 79 in the second round, one stroke better than her first round total. Eric Gravbrot had the top men's finish for MSUB. The Yakima, Wash. native, placed seventh in the individual standings. The Montana State Billings' men were tied for fifth place.

Fish had two birdies and 19 pars during her 159, 15-over total score. Cayley Fish and Mariah Cleveland both shot 82's Tuesday, after they both shot 80 in the first round. The two sophomores finished in 17th. Capri Ingram was a stroke behind with a 163 total in 20th place. BreAnna Cameron shot a 176.

“I am very proud of our women today,” MSUB women's and men's golf head coach Shawn O'Brien said. “Everyone continued to play consistent and we did not have any vital mistakes. Our goal every time out is a top-three finish, and for the third straight tournament we've accomplished that goal. We are a very young team and I continue to see improvement every tournament.”

Regis' Nicole Hubert won the women's individual title with a five-over 159 total. Colorado State-Pueblo won the women's team title with a total of 617. CSU-Pueblo's top four golfers all finished in the top 10 led by Leina Kim's second place individual finish. Julie Sanchez placed fifth, while Michaela Breit and Dominique Dinallo tied for eighth.

On the men's side, Gravbrot finished seven-under-par with a 209. The sophomore was in third place entering the final day of the Oredigger Invitational, but slipped to seventh after shooting a 73 Tuesday. Gravbrot led the tournament field on par threes, shooting four-under on those holes. He had 13 birdies in the tournament.

The Yellowjackets' Wyatt Nielson made three eagles during the three rounds. He finished with a 226. Brad Harrelson came in 15th with a three-round total of 214. He shot par on Tuesday. Gage Huft and Marcus Drange tied for 21st.

“Our men played fantastic this weekend,” O'Brien said. “I am excited for the fact that our team played well. We broke our team's single round record score shooting eight-under-par in the second round. We shot a school-record seven-under-par. Eric breaking the individual single round record shooting eight-under and he broke the Fox Hollow course record. The most exciting part of the season this far is that we have all underclassmen playing. We are only going to continue to improve this season.”

Fort Lewis College won the men's team title thanks to a second place finish from Charlie Laudermilk and a fourth place finish from Lucas Laudick. Colorado Christian's Nathaniel Goddard won the individual title after shooting a 68 in the first round, a 65 in the second round, and another 68 in the final round.

The Yellowjacket women travel to Bellingham, Wash., for the Western Washington Invitational Oct. 8. The MSUB men have off until the Montana State Billings/Rocky Mountain College Match Play Oct. 12.
