LITCHFIELD PARK, Ariz. – The Montana State University Billings men's golf team wrapped up their time at the Grand Canyon Thunderbird Invitational Tuesday afternoon by posting a final round score of 295 to finish 17
th as a team with a combined team-score of 894.
The 295 was their best combined score of the three-round tournament and was better than seven other teams in the 20-team field. The Yellowjackets showed improvement every round as they opened the tournament with a 302 first round combined stroke-count before posting a 297 in the second round.
MSUB was led by the tandem of
Marcus Drange and
Brad Harrelson. The duo finished tied for 40
th with stroke-counts of 220.
California State University – Stanislaus (840) claimed the team-crown by nine strokes over Western Washington University (849) while the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs (851) finished in third as a team.
CSU – Stanislaus' Trevor Blair and UC – Colorado Springs' Eddie DeLashmutt finished in a tie for medalist honors. They each posted scores of 207 through the three rounds.
After returning home to Billings, the men will have a short turn-around as they prepare to take on Rocky Mountain College in a match-play tournament at Pryor Creek Golf Course this Thursday, March 29 and Friday, March 30.
