PUEBLO, Colo. —
Mark Pramounmat's career bests highlights the Montana State University Billings men's golf team to at The Sam Proal, who went on to post a three-round total of 897 (301-305-291) at Pueblo Country Club.
The Yellowjackets saved their best for last, firing a final-round 291 to close the tournament on a high note. MSUB improved by 14 strokes from its second round and climbed one spot in the standings, showcasing a strong response on a course that yielded a 74.54 scoring average to claim 15
th place as a team. The 'Jackets also totaled 40 birdies over the three rounds, ranking 10th in the field.
Leading the way individually was senior
Mark Pramounmat, who delivered one of the top performances of his career. Pramounmat tied for 14th at even par with rounds of 75-70-68, using a stellar 3-under 68 in the final round to surge up the leaderboard. The 68 marked an 18-hole personal best, while his 213 total set a new three-round personal record. He also finished tied for fourth in the tournament with 13 birdies.
Bowdie Fox was next for the Yellowjackets, finishing tied for 50th at 223 (75-75-73).
Aubrey Kelley placed tied for 70th at 229 (77-78-74), while
Cameron Hackmann finished tied for 88th at 235 (75-82-78).
Kaopun Akmaneenin rounded out the scoring lineup, tying for 92nd at 236 (76-84-76).
MSUB opened the tournament with a 301 in the first round before slipping to a 305 in round two. Despite the setback, the Yellowjackets regrouped and delivered their strongest round of the event on Tuesday, with the 291 serving as a clear highlight and a sign of progress heading into the final stretch of the season.
Colorado Christian claimed the team title at 841 (-11), followed by host Colorado State-Pueblo at 849 and West Texas A&M at 850. On the individual side, Peyton Jones of Colorado Christian earned medalist honors at 10-under par.
THE BUZZ: Mark Pramounmat earned Intermountain Health Player of the Tournament after posting a 54-hole personal best (213) as well as a career best 68 in the final round.
