PUEBLO, Colo. – One stroke was all it took to give the Montana State University Billings women's golf team their second win of the spring season. The Yellowjackets bested Colorado Mesa University by the lone stroke to claim the Thunderwolf Ladies Spring Invitational with senior
Kalli Stanhope claiming medalist honors for the second week in a row.
Stanhope claimed the win by six strokes over Colorado Christian University's Maria Manrique who recorded Sunday's low round of 74. Stanhope recorded a weekend-low of par-72 in Saturday's round and then backed that up with a 77 today to claim the medalist honors.
Melissa Saken came home in seventh for the Yellowjackets with a combined score of 162 while
Cayley Fish and
Capri Ingram finished the two-day tournament in a tie for 12
th with a stroke-count of 166.
The Yellowjacket women will be back in action at their home course, Pryor Creek Golf Club, this Thursday, March 29 and Friday, March 30 when they compete in the MSUB/RMC Match Play. The Yellowjacket women will be joined by the men as the two squads take on Rocky Mountain College.
