PORTLAND, Ore. – After leading the Montana State University Billings women's golf team at the Travis Roy Memorial, Emy Cambuzat has been named GNAC Women's Golfer of the Week.

Cambuzat was the top GNAC player at the season-opening Travis Roy Memorial tournament in Sheridan, Wyo., last week. The Yellowjacket sophomore carded a 13-over-par 229 (78-78-73) to finish in a tie for sixth place among a field of 67 competitors. Cambuzat saved her best round for last, delivering five birdies on her way to a 1-over-par 73 her third time through the course to vault up the leaderboard. Cambuzat is coming off a freshman season in which she averaged 81.9 strokes per round and placed 20th at the GNAC Championships.
 
MSUB Head Coach Adam Buie: "Emy had a productive summer and worked hard to get better. She had three solid rounds in the 70s on a Powder Horn course that was playing pretty difficult with 30 mile-per-hour winds each day. I am happy to see the progress and am looking forward to what she does this year."
