BILLINGS, Mont. -- Sophomore Heidi Greenback added two goals and Amanda Brusic had a third as the Montana State Billings women's soccer team rolled to a 3-0 victory over Southwest Minnesota State Saturday afternoon at Yellowjacket Field in the second match of the MSU Billings Cup.

With the victory, the Yellowjackets (2-0-0) claimed the title at the Ninth Annual MSU Billings Cup Presented by Best Western Clock Tower Inn. With three goals and an assist in two matches, Greenback was awarded the MVP honors of the tournament.

The Yellowjackets looked sluggish for the first 20 minutes of the match, but came alive midway through the first half with constant pressure on the Mustangs defense.

Brusic knocked in the game winner in the 27th minute off a pass from Greenback down the left side of the pitch and took her shot from 20 yards out into the left side of the net. The goal was Brusic's first of the season and was one of her four shots on the afternoon.

The second goal came just four minutes later in the 31st minute when Janae Remsberg found a streaking Greenback down the middle of the box and fed the ball right to her feet for a one-timer into the right side of the goal.

Greenback's second goal came in the 68th minute as Tyshae Davis beat her defender and found Greenback once again in the middle of the field. Greenback then took on her defender and lofted her shot over Mustang's keeper Sonya Smith.

The Yellowjackets dominated statistical categories, holding a 24-5 advantage in total shots and a 13-0 edge in corner kicks. MSUB put 13 of their 24 shots on frame, while the Mustangs had three shots on goal.

Yellowjacket goalkeeper Danielle Gordon (2-0) earned her second win of the season by making three saves in the match. Today was also her second consecutive shutout of the year. Jaucelyn Richter also fired eight shots in the match, while Jennifer Larsen took two and Jackie Hill and Lisa Dallapiazza each took one.

The Yellowjackets are now scheduled to host Rocky Mountain College Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. before going on the road for their first road test of the season at the University of Mary.
