PORTLAND, Ore. – Following the announcement of the Great Northwest Athletic Conference's postseason awards Wednesday, three Montana State University Billings women's soccer players were awarded with all-conference honors on recognition of their achievements on the field during the 2025 season.
Liberty Palmer,
Cesia Swain, and
Kambryn Smith were each named All-GNAC Honorable Mentions for the Yellowjackets. It marked the first career all-conference honors for Swain and Smith, while Palmer earned all-conference recognition for the fourth time in her career.
One of the most decorated Yellowjackets in program history, Palmer earned her honor after previously receiving All-GNAC First Team honors one time in her career, and twice receiving All-GNAC Second Team honors. A senior captain for MSUB this season, Palmer was one of MSUB's most dangerous attacking threats, playing 15 games and leading the team with 33 shots and 17 shots on goal. Palmer totaled three total points on the season, scoring one goal: a game-winning effort in September against Saint Martin's, along with one assist. The season capped off a historic career for the forward, who finishes her MSUB career 10
th all-time with 15 goals, scoring four game-winners, and adding three assists for a career total of 33 points.
"Liberty has worked extremely hard and has achieved so much on the field throughout her time here at MSUB," said MSUB head coach
Abiye Jack. "It is great to see her receive recognition for her senior season."
After redshirting the previous season after transferring from Gillette Community College, Swain emerged this season as one of the Yellowjacket's top creative threats in attack. Playing all 18 games for the 'Jackets, making 14 starts, Swain led MSUB in assists this season with two, both coming in conference play. In addition, Swain also scored one goal during the season, a game-winner against Minot State that lifted the Yellowjackets to their first win on the season. Finishing the year with four total points, Swain attempted the second most shots for MSUB on the season with 31, and shots on goal with 11.
"Cesia was probably our most technically consistent player and created many scoring chances for the team," Jack said. "She consistently puts in as much, if not more, extra work than any player I've coached. I'm glad she received recognition for her play this season."
A true freshman, Smith played in each of the MSUB's 18 games, making 17 total starts. The Yellowjacket's striker led the team with three goals on the season, totaling six total points. Smith attempted 16 shots on the season, placing seven attempts on goal, with her goal percentage of 18.8% finishing as the team's second most effective rate during the 2025 season.
"Kambryn had an awesome freshmen season and I'm glad she was recognized for her play," Jack said. "In addition to scoring some impactful goals, she brought a strong presence and tactical understanding that is rare for a freshman in her position."
