BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Katie Thiel and Anica Knispel of Montana State Billings posted wins at the Tom Gage Classic Friday in the final tune-up for next week's Great Northwest Athletic Conference outdoor championships.

The event, held at Montana State University, featured competitors from the Bobcats, University of Montana, Frontier Conference programs and MSUB.

Thiel was part of a 1-2 finish for the Yellowjackets in the1,500-meter run. Thiel won in 5:05.28, while teammate Shena Wald was second in 5:08.85.

Anica Knipsel won the shot put with an effort of 43-3.75. The freshman from Billings was also in the hammer throw (140-8).
