SEASIDE, CA – After playing the first 36-holes at the Bayonet PGA qualifying course in Seaside, California, the Jackets find themselves in sixteenth place as a team shooting 304 and 332 for a combined 636.  The MSU Billings men's golf team traveled to California to compete in the seventh annual Williams Roofing Otter Invite, hosted by Cal State Monterey Bay March 21-22. 

A top the team leader board is Lynn University shooting rounds of 292 and 294 for 586.  The host team Otters are tied for second with Cal State Chico at 296 and 298 for 594.  Following close behind and just four strokes off the pace is Rollins College shooting 299 in both rounds for 598.

Nick Green of Chico State is leading the individual competition shooting a par 72 in round one and was able to cut a stroke off his game with a 71 in round two for a 143.  D.J. Fernando of Bakersfield, host of the last tournament the Jacket men played in, holds on to second with rounds of 71 and 73 for 144.  Third place is shared by four golfers, two of which are from the team leader Lynn University with a 146.  The Yellowjackets are led by Chris McConnell (Jr., Lewistown, MT) who shot a 72 and 82 for a 154.  McConnell is tied for thirty-sixth.  Teammate Nick Larson (Fr., Riverton, WY) is tied for fifty-seventh and shot rounds of 74 and 83 for 157.

The Yellowjackets will play the final 18-holes of the Otter Invite Tuesday, March 22 with a tee time of 7a.m.
