WINDSOR, CO – MSU Billings golfer
Chris Haas shot an opening round 80 to tie for eighth place after day one of the Northern Colorado Invitational Monday. The round was delayed because of snow and moved from the Boomerang Golf Course in Greeley to the Pelican Lakes Golf Course in Windsor.
Haas led five Yellowjackets who all shot rounds in the 80s. MSUB sits in fourth place after the first round with a total score of 334, three shots behind Adams State for third place. Northern Colorado, with a first-round 312, holds a two-stroke lead on Regis for the tournament team lead. UNC's Tyler Weaver and Regis' Chris Sylvia each sit atop the individual leader board with a 73.

Chris McConnell used a front nine 39 to join
Josh Zimmerman tied at 13
th place with an 83.
Matt Desin and
Eric Staab round out the Yellowjackets' top five with an 88 and 89 respectively.
The second round will be played Tuesday at Pelican Lakes Golf Course. An 8:00 a.m. shotgun start is scheduled, weather permitting.
