BILLINGS – The Montana State University-Billings men's and women's golf team saw their first action last weekend at two events in Aberdeen South Dakota, with the men's team walking away with the Presentation College/Northern State Tournament title. The Yellowjackets edged Jamestown and South Dakota Tech 304-309 in the PC/NSU Tournament.
MSU Billings is competing in golf for the first time in the schools history. On Sunday the Yellowjackets participated in the NSU Open, with the men placing third and the women placing second. The men were paced by
Eric Staab's 80 and Brian Barthelmoss's 82. The ladies were led by
Elizabeth Marshall's 92, which was good for third place in the individual standings.
On Monday MSU Billings switched venues for the PC/NSU Golf Tournament. The men's team captured first place with a combined score of 304. The Yellowjackets'
Kevin Davis won top individual honors with a 74, followed by
Andy Eames's second place 75.
Matt Desin came in sixth place with a 77.
For the Lady Jackets at the PC/NSU Tournament, Marshall shot a third-place 83 to lead the team to an overall third place finish.
