MSUB Track and Field to hold a Winter Camp

BILLINGS, Mont. – The Montana State University Billings Yellowjackets track and field team will host a winter camp running February 15 and 16, 2020 in the lower gym of the Physical Education building.

Campers will have the opportunity to participate in six one hour sessions over two days pertaining to their desired event type (sprints/jumps, distance, or throwing). Each camper will have the opportunity of being coached by the MSUB track & field coaches and athletes that includes school record holders, GNAC All-Conference placers, GNAC individual champions and NCAA DII All-Americans.

The goal of MSUB track & field camp is to provide high quality coaching at the ability level of the camper to help improve their basic and advanced skills. Another goal is to introduce campers to new events, reinforce the fundamentals of their events, and to also begin the process of event mastery. It is the mission of the camp that each camper will leave being a better track & field athlete, and have more love and passion for the sport.

The cost to registrar is $35 per camper with a limit of 60 participants. A free camp t-shirt can be picked up at the same time as check-in on the day of the camp. Payment may be made online at sign up, or cash or check will be accepted during check-in (checks made payable to MSUB Track & Field). Camp t-shirts will be available for purchase in a variety of sizes as well.

Campers should wear athletic clothing appropriate for activities associated with track & field. Campers are also encouraged to bring their own water bottles and fill them using the drinking fountains located around the facility. Packing a light snack will help refuel the camper in between the sessions. Running / training or event specific shoes would be appropriate to provide the proper cushion during participation on the gym floor. The camp will not be using any track surfaces, so bringing and use of competition spikes is discouraged.

Distance Runners should bring athletic clothing for training outdoors and indoors.
