BILLINGS, Mont. – Head coach
Alex Balog of the Montana State University Billings men's soccer team has been selected to the NCAA Men's and Women's Soccer Rules Committee, announced the organization on Wednesday.
The committee is comprised of various coaches and staff members at NCAA universities throughout the country, and is responsible for the maintenance of the official NCAA rules of soccer and for the development and implementation of new and revised rules.
"I am honored to be appointed to the NCAA Men's and Women's Soccer Rules Committee," said Balog, who is in his fifth year as head coach at MSUB and seventh season overall with the program. "Serving on this committee is another opportunity to put MSUB on the map while also working towards the advancement of college soccer. I take this committee membership very seriously, and will do what lies in my power to help make our beautiful game an even stronger tool for student-athletes to have a quality experience in college."
Balog will begin his service on the committee immediately, and will remain active through August 31, 2021. The Leuven, Belgium native took over MSUB's head coaching position prior to the 2012 season and has amassed an overall record of 31-39-15 in charge of the Yellowjackets.
