Rohnert Park, Cali. – Montana State Billings was on the verge of their second consecutive loss, but a great effort in the second half forced extra play. The Yellowjackets and Seawolves would eventually play to a 1-1 double overtime draw.
 
Sonoma State struck first, as Taylor Varnadore punched home a free kick from 30 yards out at 24:31. MSUB countered with two shots in the 39^th minute, but would not find success and trailed 1-0 entering the intermission.
 
The Seawolves continued to apply heavy offensive pressure in the second half, outshooting the Yellowjackets 7-3. As time faded, it seemed as if Sonoma State would escape with the one goal victory; but Kyle Emerick would not be denied in the 84^th minute, scoring the equalizing goal. The junior midfielder received a pass from Landon Horst and drilled a shot from six yards out to land in the right of the net. Emerick's goal was the team's first of the 2013 season. MSU Billings and the Seawolves ended regulation with a 1-1 deadlock.
 
While the Seawolves outshot MSU Billings 6-1 in both overtime periods, no goals were scored and the match concluded with a draw.
 
Eoin Hurley started at goalkeeper for the Yellowjackets and recorded a game high seven saves. Beau Diaz started between the pipes for the opposition and registered three saves in the match.
 
Including his score, Emerick had a total of two shots land on target. Horst and Thorge Jess also recorded shots on goal for MSUB.
 
MSUB now sits at 0-1-1 on the season and continues their Californian road trip with a contest against Azusa Pacific University on Thursday, Sept. 12 at 7:30 p.m. (Pacific Time).
 
The Seawolves, 1-0-1, play San Francisco State on Friday, Sept. 13.
