Billings, Mont. – Montana State Billings men's soccer team played tough but ended up losing a close 2-1 match to Saint Martin's University Thursday afternoon (Sept. 26). The Yellowjackets now falling to 0-5-2 overall, and 0-2-1 in the GNAC look to rebound against Seattle Pacific University on Saturday, Sept. 28.

Saint Martin's, who came into the game riding a two game winning streak, improves to 3-4 overall and remains unbeaten in the GNAC at 3-0. The Saints who ranked No. 2 in the conference in shots prior to Thursday's match, outshot MSU Billings by a narrow 13-11 margin. As fatigue set in in the later minutes of competition, Saint Martin's pushed through, breaking the tie at 81:11 with a Dylan Gaydosh goal. Gaydosh, who ranked third in the GNAC in goals scored prior to the match, struck a ball from the midfield that found its way by Hurley into the net, giving the Saints the 2-1 advantage.

Chad Ward's attempt at 83:54 was blocked and Haley Klarich's shot in the 87th minute went wide right, allowing Saint Martin's to sneak away with the victory.
