Azusa, Cali. – Montana State Billings men's soccer team is still seeking their first win in 2013 as they fall to Azusa Pacific 2-1 in the 99^th minute of overtime. The Yellowjackets fall to 0-2-1 on the year as they gear up for their final contest in California against Point Loma Nazarene University on Sept. 14.
 
Despite landing four shots on target and outshooting the Cougars 10-9 in the first half, MSU Billings found itself trailing early in the match as Garrett Mehrguth completed a shot from 18 yards out (27:58), putting the opposition ahead 1-0. Azusa Pacific controlled possession after their score, taking five more shots from the 28^th minute through the break.
 
The Cougars owned the one goal advantage at the intermission.
 
MSUB came out strong in the second half, deadlocking the score 1-1 with a header by Haley Klarich at 53:21. Landon Horst gave Klarich a quality pass and he nailed a shot after the failed clear attempt by Azusa's backline.
 
After the score both teams went back and forth without giving up a clear advantage, and ended regulation in a 1-1 draw.
 
During the first overtime period, Azusa turned up their offensive pressure, and outshot the Yellowjackets 3-0. At 99:02 the Cougars efforts would be rewarded, as Keenan Armbrust scored the game winning goal off an assist by Bulut Oktay and Steven Shiokari.
 
The goalkeepers from both teams turned in solid outings. Eoin Hurley registered a game high eight saves and Azusa Pacific's Chip Cox recorded six saves on the evening.
 
Thorge Jess led all strikers in shots on target with three in the match.

"Today's loss was a heartbreaker; however, as a coaching staff we can't fault the players today," stated head coach Alex Balog. "Yes, we missed some chances, but we played with a lot of heart and desire and at times we moved the ball very well. We have to take the positives from this match into the Point Loma Nazarene contest and learn from our mistakes."
 
The Yellowjackets will compete against Point Loma Nazarene on Sept. 14 at 11:00 a.m. (Pacific Time).
