Box Score BILLINGS, Mont. –The Montana State University Billings Men's Soccer team lost a tightly contested match versus Western Washington University Thursday 0-1.
Pat Cole's goal proved to be the difference as the Vikings improved to 8-3-3 overall and 6-1-3 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference while MSUB falls to 3-8-3 overall and 3-5-2 in conference action.
The Yellowjackets nearly took the lead in the 35th minute, when a penalty kick by
Thorge Jess rocketed off the crossbar.
Cole gave the Vikings the lead five minutes later in the 40th minute. James Molyneux-Elliot played a ball into the penalty area that Cole took on a half-volley and chipped in from 12 yards out beating Jacket Goalie
Eoin Hurley who had four saves.
The Vikings outshot the Jackets 15-12 with each team having five shots land on goal. A total of eight players had shot attempts for the Jackets, Jess led MSUB with four shots, three of which were on goal.

Haley Klarich,
Sam Butterworth,
Kyle Emerick,
Michael Aringer and Aodhan Browlee who each had one shot on the night.
"The game today recaps our season perfectly: we are unable to score the most simple chances and we give silly goals away on a constant basis," Head Coach
Alex Balog said. "We all need to take a good look at ourselves in the mirror and try to move on."
