Jackets Host Rocky in Season Finale and Senior Day

BILLINGS, Mont. -- Saturday afternoon will bring to close yet another season of Montana State Billings men's soccer and the collegiate careers of six MSUB seniors as the Yellowjackets play their season finale against the Rocky Mountain College Battlin' Bears at 3:30 p.m. at Yellowjacket Field.
 
MSUB, celebrating senior day on Saturday, will bid farewell to seniors Aaron Reay, Marco Rosales, Nathan Yamaguchi, Peter Davies, Tyler Moriarty and Garion Holian.
 
The Yellowjackets enter the derby against RMC hoping to finish the season at .500 after sitting at 2-7 starting the month of October. The Yellowjackets are 7-8-2 this season and are unbeaten in seven of their last eight matches, including five victories.
 
The Jackets are coming off a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory at Northwest Nazarene last weekend that finished the conference season for MSUB who went 3-5-2 in the GNAC. Garion Holian and Thomas Sheets each had a pair of goals and an assist in the win as Holian scored the game-winner in the 100th minute.
 
Sheets and Holian and are tied for the team scoring lead with 18 points apiece. Sheets has scored eight goals and registered two assists this season. Holian, who has played in 10 of the 17 matches this season due to injury, has seven goals and four assists this season.
 
Sheets' 0.47 goals per match average was third best in the league and ranks 94th nationally, while his goal count of eight is also third best in the league, but 71st nationally.
 
Junior Thomas Chameraud leads the team in assists with five and is ranked 85th nationally in the category and is second best among players in the league.
 
Between the posts, freshman keeper Eoin Hurley has come on strong late in the season, making 48 saves this year with a .667 save percentage and a 1.66 goals against average. Hurley is 6-6-2 this season with two shutouts as his defense has limited opponents to a .142 shooting percentage.
 
The Battlin' Bears entered this week with an 8-5-0 record, but play the University of Great Falls today in their Frontier Conference finale.
 
RMC has been led by Oliver Gore who has scored eight goals this season in nine matches. James Voisey and Nick Heffernan have also been strong with six goals each as Heffernan is also tied with Mikey Wall and Evan Connoly for the team lead in assists with three.
