BISMARCK, N.D. -- After trailing 2-1, the Montana State Billings men's soccer team forced overtime where freshman defender Isaac Kerr again scored the game-winner, his second of the week, to lift the Yellowjackets to a 3-2 victory over Sioux Falls Saturday afternoon in a neutral site non-conference match.

The Yellowjackets have now improved to 5-7-0 this season and are winners of three straight contests, their longest streak of the year. USF fell to 3-7-1 on the year with the loss.

“I'm really proud of the guys today,” said head coach Dan McNally. “We did a great job of coming back from 2-1 down and getting the goal to tie the game at 2-2. I could tell that when I talked to the guys before overtime, they were desperate to win the match. It was also great being able to start five freshmen and pick up a win; it shows that our program has great promise for the future.”

MSUB dented the scoreboard first in the 17th minute when junior Thomas Chameraud sent a perfect through ball to the feet of Justin Enger who cashed in with a shot just outside the six-yard box. The goal was Enger's first of the season and the second assist for Chameraud.

USF wouldn't counter until the second half, but scored two goals in a five minute span. The first came in the 59th minute when Brice Holiday scored on header off a free kick from Ryan Keohane. The Second came in the 64th minute when Keohane put a low shot to the left of Eoin Hurley.

The Yellowjackets would score the equalizer in the 72nd minute as Haakon Taylor took advantage of a free ball in front of the net and scored in the wide open net. The goal was Taylor's first of his young Yellowjacket career.

As the game drifted into overtime, MSUB was fouled late in the 91st minute, that's when Chameraud sent a free kick into the box and onto the head of Kerr who flicked the ball on goal and past the keeper for the game-winner at 91:10.

“It was excellent to see Isaac step up and score a great header for his second game-winner of the week,” McNally said.

The Yellowjackets held a 14-7 advantage in total shots and a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal. The Yellowjacket defense also managed to keep USF off the corners, holding a 3-0 edge in corner kicks.

Hurley improved his record to 4-5-0 on the season after making one save during the match. Adamn Wemhoff took the loss for USF after making four saves during the afternoon.

“After sitting at 2-7, our team has shown great character in not giving up and winning three straight,” McNally added. “I think that a lot of teams in our position would've folded, but we've battled back and can look forward to the final six matches of the season.”

The Yellowjackets return home for a pair of matches next Thursday and Saturday against Seattle Pacific University and Saint Martin's University, respectively.
