BILLINGS, Mont. – Visiting Seattle Pacific blanked Montana State Billings Thursday afternoon 2-0 in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match at Yellowjacket Field.  With the loss, the Yellowjackets fell to 5-3-1 on the year and 1-2 in conference play, while SPU improved to 2-4-2 and 2-0-1 in conference play.

“There aren't any positives from that game,” MSUB head coach Dan McNally said.  “This season we have played with energy, enthusiasm and spirit, but that wasn't present today.  We play a tough schedule and cannot afford to play at that level again.  Seattle Pacific deserved to win the game.”

SPU, who won for the first time in Billings, held a 14-9 lead in shots and a 9-3 lead in shots on goal.  The Falcons got on the board in the 39th minute as Anthony Mohammed shot through a lot of traffic inside the box for the game winner.  It was his first goal of the season.

The Falcons held a 1-0 lead at half and a 9-5 lead in shots.  Drew Williams scored the insurance goal in the 54th minute from just inside the 18 on the right side to the upper left corner of the net and a 2-0 lead.

The Yellowjackets were led by three shots from senior, captain Chris Andre (Billings, MT, Senior HS) and sophomore Thomas Sheets (Everett, WA, Edmonds Community College).  Both had on shot on goal.  Williams led the way for SPU with three shots and one score, while Elliot Morton also had three shots.

Between the posts, MSUB's Matt Mitchell (Thornton, CO, Northglenn HS) stopped six shots and the team had a team save as well.  SPU's Zach Johnson stopped three shots for the shutout.

The Yellowjackets will look to rebound Saturday at 1 p.m. versus Saint Martin's at Yellowjacket Field.  Prior to the game there will be a BBQ beginning at 12 p.m. for the Ninth Annual Futbol Frenzy.  The BBQ is free to MSUB students with a valid ID and it is $5 for the general public.
