PORTLAND, Ore.- The Montana State University Billings volleyball team closed out its 2025 campaign with a major bright spot, proudly honoring true freshman
Allie Dorman, who earned All-GNAC Honorable Mention accolades. Her recognition marks a significant milestone for the Yellowjackets, as she becomes the first freshman since Caty Havekost in 2022 to receive all-conference honors.
"What an honor for Allie to be recognized for her efforts this year," said head coach
Scott Keister. "We play in one of the toughest conferences in the country and for my coaching peers to recognize her consistent effort through each match is very humbling and says a lot about the impact she had not only on our team but within the conference."
A native of Colorado Springs, Dorman was a cornerstone for the Yellowjackets throughout the season. She led the team in nearly every major statistical category and ranked among the GNAC's top 25 in kills, aces, and points. She closed the year with a team-high 176 kills (2.35 per set), 143 digs (1.91 per set), and 22 service aces, while also finishing top five on the roster with 20 blocks and six assists.
"It's extremely tough to be an outside hitter in this conference and she handled it extremely well, especially considering she is a freshman," said coach Keister. "Allie played through pain, injury and frustration and showed massive resilience through it all. We are grateful for her contributions and dedication to our team this season but and we are excited about her potential to learn and grow even more as the years go on."
Even while battling minor injuries, Dorman remained a steady presence on the court, appearing in 23 of MSUB's 24 matches and playing 75 total sets. Her season was packed with standout performances that highlighted her ability to rise to the occasion. One of her strongest showings came during the highly anticipated Rimrock Rivalry matchup, where she delivered a career-high 20 kills while hitting .356, added eight digs, and matched her season-best with five service aces.
She continued to showcase her range throughout the year—starting with a career-high 20 digs in the season opener against Minot State. Dorman later posted a career-best .467 hitting percentage against Central Washington on November 1, and she capped off her defensive progression with a personal-best three blocks in the November 13 matchup with Western Oregon.
