DICKINSON, N.D. – Making its final regular-season meet count, the Montana State University Billings men's and women's track and field teams had 20 season or personal-bests on Thursday at Henry Biesiot Activity Center during the Dickinson State University Last Chance meet.

Kendall Lynn broke the school record in the triple jump to highlight the strong performance, as the Yellowjackets completed their final event in advance of the 2021 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships coming up next weekend in Monmouth, Oregon.

"I am stoked with how the team performed today," said MSUB head coach Jonathan Woehl. "The jumpers were the highlight of the day. Kendall did a great job executing what we have been practicing today, and like she has done all season she made her last one her best one. It was fun to see Brenna and Kendall key off each other's good marks, and Bryce Olson did great in both the long jump and triple jump. He has had a ton of improvement in both events this season."

Lynn's school record was a leap of 37-8.75 feet, as she shattered the mark of 37-0.5 feet set by Shaniah Schwend during the 2018 season. Lynn also posted a mark of 17-0.75 feet in the long jump during her productivekendalllynntjrecord day at the jump pits. Senior Brenna Beckett had season bests in both the long jump – at 17-5.5 feet – and in the triple jump – at 35-8.75 feet.

On the men's side, Bryce Olson won the triple jump, with a season-best mark of 45-7 feet to top the field of eight competitors. The freshman also took sixth place in the long jump with a leap of 21-7.5 feet. Justin Wells also notched season bests in both jumps, at 20-3 feet in the long jump and 42-8.75 feet in the triple jump.

Mason Schram cruised to a fourth-place finish in the 100-meters, with a season-best time of 10.83 seconds which only wind prevented from being his career best. The senior also took fifth in the 200-meters, with a time of 22.28 seconds which was also his season best.

Ase Ackerman ran a career-best time of 4:01.56 minutes in the 1,500 meters, shaving a second off his PR and taking second among a field of seven runners.

Kailee Stoppel continued her strong spring, racing to a personal-best in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:52.64 minutes. The junior will enter the GNAC Championships with the fifth-best time in the event this season.

Bryant Edgerton had a positive result in the 5,000-meters, racing to a season-best time of 16:23.98 minutes and finishing in fifth place among a field of 12 runners.

Taylor Stringari posted a season-best in the discus at 115-6 feet, taking third place among the field of seven competitors. Freshman Grace Jones had a season-best mark of 125-6 feet in the hammer throw, while Stringari took fourth in the event.

Freshman Aspen Tolman posted a season-best mark in the 1,500 meters, with a time of 5:59.68 minutes. Jordan Lahi had a season best in the shot put at 35-10.5 feet, and Braden Anderson had a significant season best in the discus at 118-4 feet.

"Much like our last meet in Helena, we had improvements in nearly every training group today," Woehl said. "We turn our focus now to next weekend, when we will compete at the GNAC Championships with the goal of finishing the season on a high note."

THE BUZZ: Lynn was selected as the St. Vincent Healthcare Athlete of the Day.
