Outdoor Track & Field: Capitalized on a productive indoor season by throwing the eighth-best shot put mark in program history with a 14.42m (47-3) throw…competed in seven regular-season outdoor track and field meets, including the GNAC Championships…placed eighth in both the shot put (13.86m/45-5.75) and the discus (38.42m/126-0) at GNACs…took second in the shot put with a lifetime-best throw of 14.42m (47-3) at the Dickinson State University Last Chance Meet on May 5…had two, top-10 finishes at the Trudnowski Open by placing second in the shot put and seventh in the discus…threw a collegiate-best 38.01m (124-8) in the hammer throw at the Bauer Open on April 8…won the shot put at the Yellowjackets/Battlin’ Bears Icebreaker Open with a throw of 14.18m (46-6.25)…also took fifth place in the hammer throw and seventh in the discus at the same meet.
Indoor Track & Field: Competed at all five indoor track and field meets, including the GNAC Indoor Championships…was the team’s best shot put thrower, as he moved up to sixth on MSUB’s all-time rankings with a 14.34m (47-0.75)…moved from ninth to fifth on his final throw of GNACs with a then-lifetime best of 14.34m (47-0.75) in the shot put…also set a lifetime-best in the weight throw to place 12th with a 13.44m (44-1.25) at the conference meet…placed 10th in the shot put at the Don Holst Open on Jan. 29…in the season opener, led all non-Division I throwers at the Bobcat Challenge by taking fifth in the shot put with a 12.72m (41-8.75).
2020-21
Outdoor Track & Field: Competed at eight meets, including the GNAC Outdoor Championships…specialized in the shot put and the discus, but also did the hammer throw five times…had the team’s furthest throw in the shot put with a 41-10 (12.75), which was ninth-place at the GNAC Outdoor Championships…also threw the discus at GNACs, placing 15th with a 103-8 (31.59)…set a new collegiate best in the discus with a 118-4 (36.08) at the Dickinson State University Last Chance meet on May 6…threw a career-best 113-0 (34.45) in the hammer throw in his college outdoor track debut at the MSUB/RMC Open on March 19.
Indoor Track & Field: Season canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic…threw a 39-1.25 (11.92) in the shot put at the Stinger Open on Feb. 19-20.
Beaverhead County High School: Standout in shotput, discus, and 4x400 meter relay...Three time all-conference, all-state, and academic all-state selection...State champion in 4x400 meter relay...Helped set school record for 4x400 meter relay team at 3:24.70...Personal best discus is 133'4"...Best javelin is 147"...Personal best shot put is 45'2"...Personal record 400 meter time is 53.33 seconds and 800 meters stands at 2:06.41.
Coach Woehl on Anderson: "He has a lot of potential. He has experience in many events, but I think his best outlook is in throwing. He is a very hard worker and comes from a high school team that is a consistent state contender every year. I am looking forward to his winning mindset and experience."
Anderson on choosing MSUB: "I chose MSUB after how well coach Woehl treated me family and I on my visit to campus. I felt that after touring the school that MSUB would be a good fit for me to continue my academic and athletic career. I look forward to being a part of the Yellowjacket team!
