The Starters
Heather Tracy – Team Captain, Player of the Decadeall-decadetracy
Position: Right Fielder
Hometown: Boise, Idaho
Playing Years: 2015-2018 (4 seasons)

The top all-around player of the 2010s decade, Tracy was selected as an All-American by both the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association after her senior season in 2018. Tracy batted .488 that season, an MSUB single-season record as she flirted with the .500 barrier.

Tracy's .426 career batting average is the highest in program history, and she also leads the all-time charts in hits with 270, triples with 10, total bases with 379, steals with 61, games played with 192, games started with 188, and at bats with 634. Tracy ranks second in on-base percentage at .444 and runs scored with 149, third in stolen base percentage at .859, fourth in slugging percentage at .598 and RBIs with 111, and ninth in home runs with 21.

Tracy had an immediate impact as a freshman in 2015, starting 50 games in right field and batting .318 on the season while stealing 10 bases. She reached double figures in steals in each of her four years, including setting a program record with 22 in her senior year. Tracy also set the single-season record for hits with 82 in 2017, and matched the mark exactly with the same amount in her final season.

Tracy was a three-time all-region selection, three-time first-team all-GNAC pick, and one of just two MSUB players in the decade to earn the GNAC Player of the Year honor. Tracy was a two-time GNAC Player of the Week and two-time academic all-conference pick, and was named the MSUB Female Athlete of the Year as a junior in 2017.

Tracy on her MSUB career: "My fondest memories at MSUB were the times I spent with my teammates and friends. It is hard for me to choose just a single moment because there were just so many, and the friends I made became my MSUB family that will always remain close to my heart.

Lisa McKinney (Tracy's Head Coach 2015): "Heather is one of the best stories, coming in essentially as a walk on and leaving as an All-American. She is one of the fastest players MSUB has ever had and most diverse at the plate. As a hitter, the defense never knew how to play her because if you played back she would drop a bunt and if you played close she would hit it over your head or even over the fence. Watching her on the field, messing with the defense is still one of my most favorite things to have seen."

Bekah Gasner (Tracy's Assistant Coach 2015, Head Coach 2016): "Heather was such a unique addition to our program. She had so many tools to use as a left-handed hitter that she could fool any defense, no matter how many times they faced her. She could hit for power, slap for infield base hits, slap for multi base hits, and then there was her signature 'dink.' There's no question that deserved her All-American accolades, and a spot on the all-decade team."

Where is she now? Now Heather Peterson, after marrying Yellowjacket baseball catcher Landon Peterson, she is an accounts payable specialist at ClickFunnels.

Bella Rovensall-decaderovens
Position: Center Fielder
Hometown: Sparks, Nevada
Playing Years: 2013-2017 (5 seasons)

Feature Story: Rovens Does It All For MSUB Softball

Rovens redshirted as a freshman in 2013, before going on to one of the best four-year careers in program history. Rovens was the first player in the decade to break the all-time hits record at MSUB, as she ranks second all-time with 215 behind Tracy.

Rovens holds the all-time MSUB records for runs scored with 157 and walks drawn with 89. She also ranks second in at-bats with 622, games played with 190, and games started with 187, fourth in on-base percentage at .434, eighth in total bases with 253, and ninth in batting average at .346.

Rovens' best statistical season came in 2015, when she was the leadoff hitter on the Yellowjackets' championship squad. Rovens batted .392 that year, while stealing a career-high 13 bases and leading the team with 51 runs scored. Rovens also had 20 RBIs out of the top spot in the batting order, and drew 27 walks to go against just 19 strikeouts in 166 at-bats.

Rovens also holds the school and GNAC single-game records for runs scored with five (achieved March 26, 2016), and walks drawn with five (achieved March 4, 2015). She was a three-time all-conference selection, two-time GNAC Player of the Week, and received the MSUB Career Achievement Award at the Buzzies her senior year.

Lisa McKinney (Rovens' Head Coach 2013-15): "Bella always impressed me because she is one of the few that truly treated practice like it was a game every day. She wanted to be challenged and found a way to beat that challenge day in and day out. Her speed in the outfield and at the plate is what made her such a threat on the field."

Bekah Gasner (Rovens' Assistant Coach 2013-15, Head Coach 2016): "We got lucky to have Bella in our program for five years. She was smart in the box, smart on the bases, and fast in the outfield. As a leadoff batter, she was everything you could ask for. She saw a lot of pitches, she got deep in counts, she fouled off pitches she didn't like, and waited for something she could put in play for a successful at bat. She was determined to get on base, earned a lot of walks, and set the rest of our lineup up for success. She frustrated pitchers, leaving the defense on their toes once she reached first. She was a leader in the outfield, tracked down every ball, and robbed multiple home runs. Bella was a great player to coach and watch."

Meg Harasymczukall-decadeharasymczuk
Position: Left Fielder
Hometown: Spring Creek, Nevada
Playing Years: 2011-2012 (2 seasons)

Feature Story: In 2 Prolific Seasons Harasymczuk Has Left Her Mark At MSUB (Joe Kusek/Billings Gazette - May 3, 2012)

One of the most dominant hitters in program history, Harasymczuk achieved more in two seasons with the 'Jackets than most players did in a full four-year career. The powerful left fielder posted a career batting average of .358, while slugging 29 home runs and driving in 87.

Harasymczuk is the program's all-time leader in slugging percentage at .724, and her 12 intentional walks drawn are also a school record. She ranks fifth in on-base percentage at .426 and in home runs with 29, and sixth in batting average at .358.

It didn't take long for Harasymczuk to make a name for herself, as she won GNAC Newcomer of the Year honors and was a first-team all-conference pick after batting .353 with 14 home runs as a junior in 2011. She followed that with another first-team all-league nod and an all-region selection in 2012, as she hit .365 with 15 long balls to help the 'Jackets reach the regional.

Harasymczuk on her MSUB career: "My fondest memories at MSUB were the atmosphere and my teammates. We spent a lot of time on the road and in a bus, and those memories will last a lifetime."

Lisa McKinney (Harasymczuk's Head Coach 2011-12): "Meg is one of the best 'gamers' I have ever seen. When it came to game day she would 'ball outrageous' as she would say. The records that she set are impressive considering we only had her for two years at MSUB. She knew how to step up to the challenge while still having fun."

Bekah Gasner (Harasymczuk's Assistant Coach 2011-12): "By far the most relaxed pressure player I ever coached. Her swing was effortless, and she quickly became a game-changing threat during each at bat. Her name is all over the record books in only two seasons worth of work."

Where is she now? Harasymczuk is a radiologic technician at Billings Clinic.

The Reserves
Bobbie Leeall-decadelee
Position: Right Fielder
Hometown: Great Falls, Montana
Playing Years: 2009-2012 (4 seasons)

A four-year standout, Lee's career culminated in her best two seasons and she was a key leader on the team's 2012 championship team. Lee had her most productive offensive season in 2012, hitting .316 with 10 home runs and 28 RBIs while going a perfect 13-for-13 in the stolen base department.

Lee earned all-conference recognition in both her junior and senior seasons, including first-team all-GNAC and second-team all-region after batting .432 with nine doubles and four home runs during the 2011 campaign. She is also one of the few members of the all-decade team to have participated in multiple regionals, as she was a freshman on the Yellowjackets' 2009 NCAA tournament team.

Among the Yellowjackets' all-time leaders, Lee ranks fifth in walks with 45, sixth in on-base percentage at .412, eighth in runs scored with 93 and stolen bases with 26, and 10th in batting average at .344.

Lee on her top MSUB memories: "One of my favorite memories of my time at MSUB is the scavenger hunt/camping trip that Coach Boomer would put together to start the year off. We would have to figure out her clues at different businesses around Billings and then the team that could solve all the clues first and get to the end location would win. We would follow that with a floating/camping trip that also involved a talent show. It was a fun way to get to know the new members of the team. Also having to shovel off the field when it was covered in snow in order to get a game in."

Lisa McKinney (Lee's Assistant Coach 2009-10, Head Coach 2011-12): "Seeing the growth of Bobbie Lee from a freshman to senior was one of the most amazing things. She began as a leader by example and turned into a vocal leader as well. Bobbie Lee would sell out for any ball that came her way and was aggressive on the bases. Her uplifting attitude on and off the field helped glue our team together as well."

Bekah Gasner (Lee's Teammate 2009, Assistant Coach 2010-12): "Bobbie is one of the most inspirational players that I have had the pleasure to coach. She endured a lot of adversity while she was here, but she worked hard and found ways to persevere and come out on top. She just continued to get better every year. She went from a quiet freshman, to a very trusted and confident leader."

Where is she now? Lee resides in Federal Way, Washington, where she is a firefighter for Bellingham Fire Department.

Rose Harringtonall-decadeharrington
Position: Center Fielder
Hometown: Missoula, Montana
Playing Years: 2011-2013 (3 seasons)

The Yellowjackets nabbed Harrington from D1 Seattle University after her freshman year, and she was at her best during the team's regional run in 2012. Starting 49 games that season, Harrington hit .401 with 12 doubles, three home runs, and 32 RBIs. She was also 14-for-15 in stolen base attempts, helping pace the Yellowjacket offense.

Harrington was a first-team all-GNAC and second-team all-region selection after her standout junior season. She finished her career seventh in batting average at .354, ninth in stolen bases with 21, and also carried a .389 on-base percentage.

Harrington on her MSUB career: "My fondest memory was making it to regionals my junior year. It was in sunny California and was an awesome trip. We played a ranked team our first game and had them on the ropes for most of it!"

Lisa McKinney (Harrington's Head Coach 2011-13): "Rosie was always fun to watch because she was a spark plug. She was high energy and thoroughly enjoyed breaking up defenses that thought they knew how to play against her. Rosie was a leader in the outfield and a terror at the plate."

Bekah Gasner (Harrington's Head Coach 2011-13): "Rosie played with a lot of spunk and a lot of sass. She was speedy and smart and liked to create chaos on the bases. She created a lot of opportunities offensively and her teammates quickly learned from her strategies. My favorite memory was when she finally slapped a line drive over the fence. She may have fist pumped the whole way around the bases that day. She worked hard to achieve that goal and it was fun to watch her achieve it."

Where is she now? Harrington resides in Missoula, where she is a licensed medical esthetician at Alpine Oral and Face Surgery.

Cori Gammonall-decadegammon
Position: Left Fielder
Hometown: Sparks, Nevada
Playing Years: 2013-2016 (4 seasons)

Feature Story: Sparks Shining Bright As Yellowjacket Softball Pipeline

A four-year outfielder in the middle of the decade, Gammon steadily progressed throughout her career and peaked as a senior in 2016. She played in 40 games and started 36 in the team's 2015 championship season, before starting all 50 games as a senior in 2016.

Gammon hit a career-high .317 in 2016, while going 6-for-7 in steals and scoring 32 runs. Overall in her career she hit .272 with 14 stolen bases and 90 runs scored.

Gammon was also a standout in the classroom, being selected academic all-GNAC three times.

Lisa McKinney (Gammon's Head Coach 2013-15): "Cori was a player that wanted to motivate and pick up her teammates and she did that very well. She was another athlete that I really enjoyed watching grow into a leader because she came in very quiet and by the time she was done, she was vocal. She was a hard worker and her consistency in the outfield and at the plate showed her dedication."

Bekah Gasner (Gammon's Assistant Coach 2013-15, Head Coach 2016): "Cori was a solid and consistent player, both offensively and defensively. As a hitter, she knew how to create opportunities at the plate. She loved being strategic and did a great job putting the ball in play to move runners. She was always in tune with her teammates who surrounded her in the lineup; it's like they had a sixth sense. They connected well and capitalized on opportunities to score. I'm glad Cori and Bella came to MSUB as a package deal! Both of them did amazing things for MSUB softball."

Honorable Mention
Allie Hughesalliehugheshs
Position: Left Fielder
Hometown: Sparks, Nevada
Playing Years: 2018-2020 (3 seasons)

One of the current Yellowjacket leaders, Hughes' career trajectory suggests that her best years are in front of her. Hughes carries a .280 lifetime batting average, with 10 home runs and 44 RBIs, and still has two years of eligibility remaining. Her 2019 season saw her emerge into an offensive leader with nine doubles, six home runs, and 23 RBIs. In the shortened 2020 season, Hughes had her highest batting average yet at .310 and had already hit three home runs in the first 21 games of the year.

Hughes was a second-team all-GNAC pick in 2019, and is a two-time academic all-GNAC selection as well.

Lisa McKinney (Hughes' Head Coach 2020): "Allie is a strong outfielder and has been one of our top hitters over the past couple of years. She has a way of finding a way on base or hitting runners in when we need it most. Watching her grow over the last year has been a real joy and I can't wait to see how she writes the end of her career at MSUB in the coming years."
