Foltz signs National Letter of Intent

BILLINGS, Mont. – Montana State University Billings head baseball coach Derek Waddoups announced Tuesday Pocatello, Idaho native Hayden Foltz has signed a National Letter of Intent for the 2020-21 season. Foltz becomes the fourth off-season signing on the team and brings a full season of college experience to the Yellowjackets at College of Southern Idaho. Foltz is listed as an outfielder.
 
"Hayden is an outstanding athlete and student," commented Waddoups. "We are excited about his ability to track the baseball and utilize his speed to change games. Along with his ability on the field, his character and proven ability as a student will be an asset to our program and culture."
 
Foltz comes to MSU Billings with a 3.84 grade points average plans to major in business. Among his many accolades, Foltz has been recognized academic all-American, Southern Idaho's National Society of Leadership and Success, and was on the College of Southern Idaho's President's list in 2017 and 2018.

As a freshman Foltz assisted College of Southern Idaho to a third place finish in the junior college world series. Prior to college, Foltz participated four years in baseball at Highland High School in Pocatello, playing outfield and pitcher under head coach Mike Green. He was named all-conference in his final two seasons and won two letters. An all-around athlete, Foltz also lettered in football and participated in basketball for the Rams.
 
He joins Ethan Babcock, Isaiah Lopez, and Kevin Blair on the 2021 MSUB baseball recruiting class. He is listed at 5-foot-11, bats left-handed and throws right-handed.
 
Foltz on choosing MSUB: "I chose Montana State University Billings because of the great reputation, success, and culture that their baseball team has. The two previous years that I spent at CSI, I was able to compete against coach Waddoups and SLCC. I have never played for him but know his players and former coaches have a high respect for him as a person as well as his knowledge for the game. I am very excited to play for Coach Waddoups and be a part of the Yellow Jacket family."
