GOODYEAR, Ariz. – Montana State University Billings women's golf wrapped up play in the RJGA Shootout at Estrella Tuesday afternoon and finished tied for 15^th place in an 18 team field in Goodyear, Arizona at Golf Club of Estrella (par 72 – 5909 yards). Cal State San Marcos shot 593 (288-305) to win the event. Jaime Jacob (Cal State San Marcos) shot 140 (68-72) to win individual honors, one stroke ahead of Alli Kim (Point Loma) who nearly caught Jacob with a 69 in round two.
 
For the second straight meet, Avery Gill was the top scoring Yellowjacket, with a two round total of 162 (81-81). Gill tied for 57^th position and matched her score last week at the SFU True North Classic in Richmond, British Columbia.
 
Sydney Rochford was tied for 66^th with a score of 165 (83-82). Rochford showed the most improvement from last time out and was 17 shots better than at the SFU True North Classic. Tierney Messmer (167, T-70), Kinsey Irvin (167, T-74), and Renae Heisler (175, T-83) were the other scoring members of the MSU Billings team Tuesday.
 
NEXT UP: The Yellowjackets play in the Dixie State Invitational September 30-October 1 in St. George, Utah at Sand Hollow Resort. Three courses remain on the MSUB fall schedule. The team will finish in the Leslie Spalding Cup in Billings October 19-20.
 
THE BUZZ: Sydney Rochford was named St. Vincent Healthcare player of the game for the Yellowjackets.
