BILLINGS, Mont. – The newly founded Montana State University Billings women's triathlon program will host a pair of informational open house sessions in the coming weeks on campus.
The sessions are free of charge, and the first one is scheduled for Sunday, May 26 at 12:15 p.m. A second session will be held on Thursday, June 6 at 12:15 p.m. The open houses are available for all girls who are juniors or seniors in high school, as well as parents and coaches who are interested in learning more about MSUB's newest varsity sport. The sessions will take place in the MSUB Student Union Beartooth Room, and will include a free lunch and the option for a campus tour.
MSUB announced the addition of women's triathlon on September 10, 2018, after obtaining a grant from USA Triathlon. Currently recognized by the NCAA among the emerging sports category, women's triathlon is one of the most rapidly growing competitive sports at the collegiate level. The sport is sanctioned by USA Triathlon, and consists of a 750-meter open-water swim, a draft-legal 20-kilometer bike ride, and a five-kilometer run.
