BILLINGS, Mont. – The seeding has been set and #3 MSU Billings will face #2 Western Washington at the third annual Great Northwest Athletic Conference Softball Championships which takes place Thursday thru Saturday, Apr. 30-May 2, at the Gateway Sports Complex in Yakima, Wash.
 
Montana State University Billings (26-21, 14-8) finished the season in third place in the conference standings earning the Yellowjackets their first berth to the conference tournament since it began in 2013. In 2012, MSUB competed in the NCAA West Region Championships in Seaside, Calf., where the 'Jackets won their first game against #6 Cal State Monterey Bay 12-6 (6 innings), before falling to UC San Diego in a 4-0 shutout.
 
Western Oregon (21-26, 14-8)  is the defending conference champion and enters the tournament as the #4 seed and will play the #1 seed Saint Martin's who is entering the tournament at 40-16 record overall and 20-4 in the conference.
 
The tournament features a double-elimination bracket with the champion to be crowned on Saturday.
 
Western Washington is 28-16 overall and 17-7 in the GNAC. The Vikings are on a six-game win streak including doubleheader wins against Saint Martin's, Central Washington, and Simon Fraser.
 
MSU Billings and Western Washington will play the early game at 4:30 p.m. Pacific Time on Thursday. That game will be followed at 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time with Saint Martin's versus Western Oregon.
 
All four teams have won GNAC softball titles since 2007. MSUB won its titles in 2009 and 2012.
