ELLENSBURG, Wash. – In their final road trip of the regular season, the Montana State University Billings' softball team came away with a shutout win and loss at Central Washington University Saturday.
The Yellowjackets (10-26, 8-11 Great Northwest Athletic Conference) have five games remaining on their conference schedule, all of them at home, but are 3.5 games out of the inaugural GNAC tournament. MSUB grabbed a 4-0 victory in the opener, but fell in the nightcap, 8-0 in five innings.

Aubrey Conceicao finished 3-for-6 at the plate Saturday.
Emily Osborn was 2-of-5 with an RBI.
Jessyka MacDonald improved to 5-4 after holding the Wildcats to three hits in the first game shutout. She struckout six CWU batters and walked two others.
Central Washington's (19-14, 13-7 GNAC) Andrea Hamada went 3-for-3 in the second game with two RBI, while Remy Bradley was 3-for-7 on the day. Heidy Wells (9-3) held the Yellowjackets scoreless and to four hits in Game 2.
In the first game, MSU Billings scored four runs on Maria Gau, who's 1.97 ERA leads the conference. After two scoreless innings, the Yellowjackets'
Rose Harrington hit a two-out single to left field the drove in
Cori Gammon. MSUB left five runners on base through the first four innings, but recorded a pair of runs on two hits in the top of the sixth.
Brittney Sanders' seventh double of the season brought in
Caryn Perrigo. The next batter,
Emily Osborn singled to right field, scoring MacDonald. Conceicao scored in the top of the seventh on a Wildcat error.
Gau (8-9) struckout five Yellowjackets and allowed three earned runs on eight hits. Central Washington stranded six runners on base and committed three errors in the loss.
In Game 2, the Wildcats scored in every inning but the first, while Wells shutdown MSUB on the mound.
Amanda Roark fell to 0-6 on the season, giving up two earned runs on six hits in three innings of work. CWU left 11 runners on base, while MSU Billings stranded four. The Yellowjackets had three errors.
The Yellowjackets won their first game in Ellensburg in three years, but CWU has now won five of the last seven meetings in the series. The teams split the series this season.
Montana State Billings welcomes Dickinson State in a non-conference doubleheader Tuesday. The pair of games were postponed after snowfall delayed the April 10 original date.
