MONMOUTH, Ore. – The Montana State University Billings baseball team suffered another setback Sunday as they dropped a pair of Great Northwest Athletic Conference games to 26
th-ranked Western Oregon University 12-0 and 5-0.
Following the four losses this weekend, MSUB moves to 11-15 overall and 4-10 in conference action while the Wolves improve to 24-7 and boast a 13-1 record in the league after the four wins.
The Yellowjackets struggled to find offensive momentum Sunday, only producing nine hits between the two games while the Wolves were able to muster 20 hits between the two games.
Samuel Paterson pitched five innings and fanned four batters while suffering the loss in game-one of the doubleheader while
Matt Eames went five innings in the second game, striking out six batters to claim game-two's loss on the mound.
Kirk Lind went eight innings and struck out seven batters in the first game to claim the win for WOU with AJ Burke pitching the first four innings of the second game with five strikeouts.
MSUB will return home for a rare Tuesday doubleheader against non-conference foe Dickinson State University on Tuesday, April 10. The twin bill is scheduled to get under way at 1 p.m. at Dehler Park.
