The Saints battled back with two runs in the second on a double by Tiffany Griffiths and three more runs in the third on a home run by Joslyn Eugenio, taking a 5-3 lead.

The Jackets cut the lead back to one, 5-4, when Harasymczuk hit her fifth home run of the season when leading off the fifth inning.

Again the Saints struck in the sixth to stretch the lead back to two as Morgan Klemm took a swing that sent the ball sailing over the left field fence.

The Jackets attempted another late-inning comeback, scoring a run when Tarn Potter scored on an error by the Saints, but the Jackets ran themselves out of the inning to fall by one.

Game 2 MSUB 11 – SMU 6

The Yellowjackets put another crooked number up on the scoreboard early in game number two of the twinbill, unloading four runs in the second inning.

Hoffman unloaded her second home run of the day as she led off the inning against Brandi Klemm. Her home run was followed in the next at bat by another solo shot, this time by Potter. Rose Harrington would later single toward second base to score Nicole Colpron, followed by Madison Smith stealing home on a double steal play with Harrington.

The Saints tied the game in the top of the fifth with four runs on two hits off of MSUB starting pitcher, Kasie Conder.

MSUB quickly took the lead back in the bottom of the inning as Hoffman jacked her third home run of the day, another solo shot, to give MSUB a 5-4 lead. The lead was short lived however, as SMU scored two more runs off of relief pitcher, Amanda Todd.

The Jackets blew the game wide open in the sixth with two outs on the board and two runners on the bags, as Harasymczuk hit an RBI-double to center to begin the scoring. After Hoffman walked to load the bases, Potter hit a two-RBI single into center field to make the score 8-6.
