As the teams emerged from the locker room SFU continued its hot shooting, building a 26 point lead (69-43) over the first eight minutes of the half with a 23-8 run that was capped by a Berry trey. During the run, Frehlick went off, knocking down three-straight three-pointers over a minute span.

The Jackets slowly chipped away at the lead, getting it back down to single digits with 2:05 remaining, 86-77. Chambers knocked down one of his two three-pointers to build some momentum, but Brown knocked down four free throws down the stretch to keep the Jackets at bay.

The Yellowjackets shot 49.2 percent (30-61) from the field for the game, but only made six of their 19 attempts from behind the line. MSUB was 13-of-19 from the free throw line and pulled down 29 rebounds, six more than SFU (23).
