| By:
BILLINGS, Mont. - PORTLAND, Ore. — Capping off a strong season both on the court and in the classroom, Montana State University Billings senior guard Pedro Ellery has been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

"Pedro is everything you want in a student athlete," said head coach Luke Fennelly. "He is a high character individual that works extremely hard on and off the court and is very well respected across campus and in the community. Pedro earning Academic All-District is much deserved, and everyone here at MSUB couldn't be happier for him."

The honor recognizes student-athletes who demonstrate a high level of academic and athletic achievement. To be eligible, nominees must be at least sophomores, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher, and either compete in at least 90 percent of their team's games or start in 66 percent of contests throughout the season.

Ellery emerged as the lone representative from the Yellowjackets men's basketball program, highlighting his consistency and commitment in all facets of the student-athlete experience. The Nottingham, England native carried a 3.56 GPA while appearing in all 31 games for MSUB this season, meeting and exceeding the criteria required for selection. He is on track to graduate this spring with a degree in sports management.

On the court, Ellery carved out an important role as a key contributor off the bench, providing steady minutes and reliable production in the Yellowjackets' rotation. He saw action in 31 contests, averaging 15.1 minutes per game, and totaled 116 points on the year. His ability to stretch the floor made him one of the team's most efficient perimeter shooters, as he knocked down 42 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc, going 28-for-67 from 3-point range.

Ellery also proved dependable at the free-throw line, converting 18 of his 23 attempts, and contributed in multiple areas beyond scoring. He finished the season with 32 rebounds, 22 assists, and 12 steals, showcasing his versatility and willingness to impact the game in a variety of ways.
