Logan Tracy begins his third full year at MSUB in the 2025-26 academic year as Assistant Athletic Director for Communications. He is in charge of Yellowjacket athletic communications, media relations, and gameday operations. He is the primary contact for MSUB women's soccer, men's and women's cross country, women's basketball, men's and women's track & field, and softball.
At MSUB, Tracy has helped to lead the department's communications and social media efforts. This includes primary oversight and content creation of the social media for his assigned sports, including photography, videography, and graphic design, as well as assisting when needed for the department's other sports. He is also a primary manager and contributor on the department's website, managing information, including schedules, rosters, and record books, and writing countless articles, previews, and recaps, He has covered MSUB's teams at six different GNAC Championships, and has covered four regional trips in trips for women's basketball, including the program's Sweet Sixteen run in 2024.
Tracy has covered and promoted numerous All-Americans, All-Region, All-Conference, and academic award winners. In addition to his communications duties, Tracy also helps to oversee the operations of MSUB's gameday crews and student workers, including statistics, table crews, and media production. Tracy has helped oversee countless games and events hosted by Yellowjacket Athletics, along with multiple tournaments and events. These include three conference and regional tournaments: the 2024 GNAC Baseball Championships, the 2024 NCAA DII Cross Country West Regional Championships, and the 2025 GNAC Cross Country Championships. He has also been an integral part of operations for the D2CCA Tipoff Classic at the Trailhead and Yellowjacket Classic for MSUB basketball, the Rimrock Classic for MSUB soccer, and the Yellowjacket Volleyball Invitational.
He is also one of the voices of the Yellowjackets, and can be regularly heard at MSUB events in multiple capacity. Tracy regularly serving as either a play-by-play or color commentator on the Yellowjacket's livestreams, primarily for basketball, baseball, and softball. He also is the primary PA announcer at Yellowjacket soccer matches, while also doing PA for basketball, baseball, and softball games, as well as at the 2024 NCAA West Region Cross Country Championships. Tracy regularly serves as a host for some of Yellowjacket Athletics largest events, including the Buzzie Award Show, the Halll of Fame and Distinction Ceremony, and the department's annual Halloween Dinner Auction.
In addition to his role with MSUB, Tracy also serves as the West Region Coordinator for the National Collegiate Baseball Writer's Association (NCBWA), coordinating weekly polls and awards, as well as preseason and postseason honors, as well as serving as a voter on the national committee. He is also a member of multiple organizations and committees in the region, including serving on the Regional Advisory Committee for Softball in 2026, the DII College Sports Communicators (D2CSC) West Region Women's Basketball Committee, and is a member of College Sports Communicators (CSC).
Tracy is the primary statistician for the Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League. Additionally, he has done commentary for multiple events with SWX Montana. Tracy is also a volunteer basketball coach, working with numerous fifth and sixth graders at St. Francis K-8.
Tracy began working for MSUB as an intern in the spring of 2022. Following his internship, Tracy continued to work for MSUB Athletics on a part-time basis until January of 2023, when he took the position of Assistant Director for Athletic Communications on an interim basis, before ascending to the full-time position in July of 2023.
Tracy has served as a member of multiple cross campus committees, serving as Yellowjacket Athletics representative for committees including the Emergency Notification Response Team, Campus Vibrancy Committee, and Welcome Week Committee.
Prior to his time at MSUB, Tracy graduated from the University of Mary with a bachelors degree in Sports and Leisure Management. In his time as an undergraduate, Tracy worked as student-worker for multiple athletic and university events. He also served as event staff at the NCAA Final Four in Minneapolis in the spring of 2019.
A Billings native, Tracy attended high school at Billings Central, graduating in 2018.
