Tori Atencio begins her sixth year as an assistant athletic trainer at MSUB in 2022-23.
She completed her master’s degree in health administration at MSUB in 2019. In addition to her role as an athletic trainer at MSUB, she will serve as the clinical coordinator for MSUB’s Master of Athletic Training program.
Atencio works primarily with the Yellowjacket women’s soccer and baseball teams, and assists as needed with other student-athletes.
Completing her bachelor’s degree from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, N.M., in May 2017, Atencio studied athletic training and also finished a minor in exercise science. At NMSU as an athletic training student, she worked with volleyball, football, women’s soccer, men’s basketball, baseball, and local high-school athletes.
Atencio is certified through the National Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers, and also holds certification in CPR, AED, and as a lifeguard.
A native of Albuquerque, N.M., Atencio graduated from Cibola High School.
