Abiye Jack begins his third season as MSUB women's soccer head coach, and his fifth total season at MSUB in the 2025-26 academic year.
In two seasons with the Yellowjackets, Jack has totaled a career record of 11-17-7 (.414). Under his time as head coach, MSUB has had nine players receive All-GNAC honors, including one first team and two second team selections. Jack's teams have also had 24 Academic All-GNAC honorees and 11 Academic All-District award winners under his tenure.
In the 2024 season, Jack once again helped lead the Yellowjackets remain competitive in the GNAC, while leading the team to a 6-8-4 record, and fifth place finish. The season was highlighted by a season opening three game winning streak; which included back-to-back 5-0 wins, along with a four game unbeaten run in conference play from Oct. 24- Nov. 7. The Yellowjackets totaled five All-Conference selections on the season, including the team's first All-GNAC First Team selection since 2022 in Liberty Palmer. MSUB also had 12 players receive Academic All-GNAC honors, and six Academic All-District honorees.
Jack took over as the program's interim head coach in the spring of 2023, leading into his first season in charge of the program that fall. In his first season, Jack helped the team improve their record from the previous season, and battle for a place in the GNAC Championships, leading to him receiving the head coaching position on a permanent basis.
Jack previously served as assistant coach for MSUB women's soccer for two seasons, joining Steven Cavallo's staff ahead of the 2021 season.
Jack previously served as the men’s and women’s assistant coach for two seasons from 2019-21 at CCBC Essex. Jack helped CCBC to two women’s national tournament appearances, in 2019 and 2020-21, and a men’s national finalist appearance in 2021. In addition to his duties at CCBC Essex, Jack served as the director of goalkeeping and head coach at Coppermine Soccer Club during 2020-21. Jack’s coaching career also includes four-years as a head coach for FC Frederick from 2016-20.
He began his coaching career as the Brunswick high School boys varsity assistant and head junior varsity coach from 2014-18. While at Brunswick, he was part of the team’s Class A Maryland state title in 2014.
A native of Baltimore, Jack competed at Frostburg State University from 2009-2012 where he had a career record of 23-6-10 with 13 shutouts as a goalkeeper. Jack graduated with his bachelor’s degree in economics and enjoyed a career in the National Premier Soccer League from 2017-19. He also holds a United States Soccer Federation National D License.”
