2024 XC: Competed in all seven events for the Yellowjackets, including the GNAC Championships and the NCAA Division II West Region Championships...had her best season to date, breaking her best 6k time twice during the season and breaking her best 5k as well...ran her best five kilometer race at the Steve T. Reeder Memorial at 20:42.8, coming in 45th place overall...ran her best six kilometer race at the NCAA West Regionals at 23:07.5, breaking her previous record by just under a minute.
2023 XC: Competed in five events for the Yellowjackets in 2023, including the GNAC Cross Country Championships and the NCAA Dll West Regionals...had one top-20 finish at the Black Hills State Invitational where she finished 17th and had a 4k time of 16:55.5...ran her best 6k at the GNAC Chamionships where she placed 66th and finished with a time of 24:58.3.
2021-22
Outdoor Track and Field: Capped off a solid debut track season by running the fifth-fastest 400-meter time (1:01.05) and achieving the fifth-furthest long jump mark (5.25m/17-2.5) in MSUB track and field history…competed in seven regular-season outdoor track meets, plus the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships…placed 14th in the 400-meter dash, high jump and the long jump at GNACs…also anchored MSUB’s 4x400 relay team at GNACs…had season-bests in the long jump (5.25m/17-2.5) and the high jump (1.50m/4-11) at the Dickinson State University Last Chance Meet on May 5…led off MSUB’s sixth-fastest 4x400 relay team in program history at the Bengal Invitational on April 30…ran her season-best 400-meter dash time and took second place with a 1:01.05 at the Trudnowski Open on April 22…won the 400-meter dash with a 1:01.22 at the Yellowjackets/Battlin’ Bears Icebreaker Open on March 19.
Indoor Track and Field: Had a promising indoor freshman campaign by running the fourth-fastest 400-meter time (1:01.22) and clearing the 10th-highest high jump height (1.49m/4-10.5) in program history…competed in all four regular-season indoor track meets, plus the Great Northwest Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships…ran the 200- and 400-meter dashes, legs on the 4x400 relay and also competed in the long and high jumps…placed 13th and ran the fourth-fastest 400-meter dash time in MSUB history at the GNAC Indoor Championships with a 1:01.22…also placed ninth in the high jump and led off MSUB’s 4x400 relay team that ran the fourth-fastest time in program history (4:10.80)…ran a season-best 28.00 in the 200-meter dash time at the Mountain State Games on Feb. 11…broke into the program’s top-10 all-time list by clearing 1.49m (4-10.5) at the Yellow Jacket Spring Open on Jan. 21-22…took second in the 400 meter dash in the 400-meter dash at the same meet.
Manhattan High School: A three-sport varsity athlete in track and field, cross country and basketball…was high school cross country and track teammates with fellow incoming freshman Kit Wiersema...capped off her high school career by placing second at the MHSA Class B State Track and Field Championships in the 400 meters, the long jump plus the 4x400 relay…also placed third in the 200 meter dash and seventh in the high jump at the state meet as a senior…qualified for the state track meet in all three years in which it was held…went under 60 seconds in the 400 meter dash for the first time en route to winning a district title, then repeated that feat to win a divisional title as a senior…personal bests include a 13.55 in the 100 meters, 26.62 in the 200 meters, 58.68 in the 400 meters, 5’1” in the high jump and 16’8.25” in the long jump…also was a guard on Manhattan’s girls basketball team for four years, plus she ran one year of cross country…was a four-time academic all-state selection.

She is very hardworking and I like that she is not afraid to step out of her comfort zone like last fall when she ran cross country. I am excited to get to work with her on continuing to improve in the high jump and sprints."
Severson on choosing MSUB: “I chose MSU Billings because it is a good fit for me and they have the major I want to pursue. The coaching staff and the team create a very welcoming environment and I am excited that I am able to continue competing in track and field here."
