Around the Horn: MSUB Softball senior feature story series - MG Bywater, RHP

2014 (Junior): Played in 12 games as a junior starting seven (5-2)…pitched two complete games and 73 total innings…threw 20 strikeouts…recorded an ERA of 4.30…earned academic all-conference.
 
2013 (Sophomore): Appeared in 17 games, starting 10 with five complete games producing an ERA of 5.01… won/loss record was 4-5...recorded the only save for the Yellowjackets on the season…in 64 innings pitched gave up only 20 bases on balls…logged 45 strikeouts.

2012 (Freshman): Led the Yellowjackets' pitching corps with a 2.55 earned run average which left her fifth in the GNAC...ended the season with a 6-4 record in 13 appearances that included seven starts and four complete games...pitched 60 1/3 innings striking out 27 batters...walked just 13 of the 251 batters she faced which left her second on the team...as a freshman, was the Yellowjackets' starting pitcher in their eventual loss to defending national champions University of California San Diego in the NCAA Division II West Sub-Regional...named to the 2012 all-GNAC team as an honorable mention.

Tualatin High School: Lettered all four years at and helped lead the team to three state tournament appearances...senior season helped Tualatin to a second-place finish in the league and an appearance in the state tournament...during junior season the team won the district tournament and appeared at state…went 12-3 during junior season and carried a 1.26 ERA in 111 innings pitched...at the plate hit .395 with a .674 slugging percentage and an on-base percentage of .469…in 2010 was named first-team all-league, conference pitcher of the year and honorable mention all-state...was also named second-team all-league in 2009 and 2008.
