Around the Horn: MSUB Softball senior feature story series - Jessyka MacDonald, RHP
 
2014 (Junior): Appeared in 19 games with nine starts…achieved a win-loss record of 7-5 with 83 total innings pitched...recorded a 4.30 ERA.
 
2013 (Sophomore): As a pitcher started 10 games with five complete games pitched with a team-leading 72 innings pitched in 17 appearances…3.50 ERA led the team, and was ninth-best in the GNAC, contributing to a 5-4 win/loss record…also struck out 76 opposing batters…had five stolen bases in six attempts.

2012 (Freshman): Became one of the Yellowjackets' go-to hurlers as just a freshman, making a team third-best 12 appearances inside the circle that saw her go 6-3 with four complete games and a save...ended her first season at the collegiate level with a 4.05 earned run average in 46 2/3 innings of work...was second on the team with 67 total strikeouts which placed her sixth in the conference...three times MacDonald retired more than 10 batters including coming within one strikeout of MSUB's single-game record of 15 when she fanned 14 batters in a 7-1 victory over Western Oregon University on Mar. 25...was named to the all-GNAC second team as a pitcher.

Billings West High School: Set numerous all-class records, including the career strikeout record (714), most career victories (48) and most career shutouts (32)...tossed four career no-hitters and pitched an eight-inning perfect game during her senior season in the state tournament...went 16-6-2 with a 2.06 ERA and recorded 244 strikeouts in senior campaign...hit .474 with five homers, 17 RBIs and had a slugging percentage of .724 as a senior...won the state 2010 Gatorade Player of the Year in junior season after going 18-2 with a 1.23 ERA...tossed three no-hitters and struck out 258 batters in 142 innings pitched during 2010...helped Billings West to its first state title since 1989 in 2010 and had two runner-up finishes in 2009 and 2011...twice earned the West team MVP award and was the team offensive player of the year in 2011...earned multiple all-state awards during her career and was twice named to the Great Falls Tribune Super-State softball team.
