Dillon Gongliewski

Dillon Gongliewski is in his fourth year as an assistant coach for the track and field program in 2021-22, and primarily focuses on the hurdles and javelin.
 
In 2020-21, Gongliewski helped coach Beau Ackerman to a fifth-place finish in the javelin at the NCAA D2 Championships, as he became a two-time All-American and was named the USTFCCCA West Region Athlete of the Year and GNAC Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Year.

Gongliewski, in his short stint as a Yellowjacket, qualified for the outdoor GNAC Championships in the javelin throw.

Previous to MSUB, Gongliewski was a two sport athlete for the University of Puget Sound located in Tacoma, Washington. As a Logger, he was a wide receiver as well as an accomplished hurdler and javelin thrower. In his time on the track and runway, he earned all-conference honors in both events. His personal bests include a 15.8s in the 110m hurdle race, and a throw that lands him second all-time best at the University of 56.63m.

Gongliewski finished his high school career at Inglemoor High School located in Kenmore, Washington, where he was a two-time state competitor in both javelin and the hurdles. As a junior, Gongliewski earned all-state honors in the hurdles taking seventh place and crossing the line at 14.86s. Gongliewski also brings his experience as a decathlete as he competed his senior year, placing him eighth overall, and second all-time at Inglemoor High.

Gongliewski is a native of Marysville, Washington and earned his bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Puget Sound in 2017. He is currently chasing a master’s degree from MSUB through the College of Education in curriculum and instruction with an added minor in political science.
