Tom Saltwell begins his first year as a volunteer assistant coach for the MSUB men’s soccer program in 2017-18.
 
Saltwell is the fourth alumnus to join the current Yellowjacket coaching staff, along with associate head coach Thomas Chameraud (2012), assistant coach Kyle Emerick (2014) and volunteer assistant Fernando Perez (2015).
 
Saltwell played at MSUB from 2013-2016, anchoring the defensive unit for four seasons as a center back. Saltwell played in 55 games over four years, starting 45 and racking up more than 3,600 minutes in his career. He was selected to the MSUB Rimrock Classic all-tournament team in 2014 and 2015, and was the tournament defensive MVP as a junior in 2015.
 
A native of Chelmsford, England, Saltwell played for numerous club teams growing up and was named the Sportsman of the Year in 2011 at Great Baddow High School. His coaching career began at age 14 when he joined the Professional Active Soccer Schools in southeast England.
