UC-Colorado Springs: Was a member of the men's basketball team for one season at UCCS (2010-11), Richards played in 23 games and averaged 12.2 minutes played in each ... Averaged 3.0 points and 1.2 rebounds per game and recorded 24 assists and 11 steals during the year.
Sandy High School: Richards was a four-year letterwinner in both basketball and golf while also participating on the track and field squad for two years ... He was named to the All-State golf team three years, qualifying him for the state competition ... Richards finished his prep career with a 72.3 stroke average ... Also while in high school, he was a three-time All-State selection in basketball and was the state champ in long jump his senior year.
