Stanford High School: Howell was a three sport athlete in high school, competing in football, basketball, and track & field. Howell earned three letters in football, three letters in basketball, and four letters in track & field.
Howell on choosing MSUB: "I chose MSUB because of the team and the coaches. The team really took me under their wing when I first met them, and were just very nice and friendly. The coaches really understood that even a kid from a small school can compete at this level. I ran track for all four years in high school without a coach, so coming here with coaches that are willing to help me makes a huge difference."
