2021-22
Outdoor Track & Field: Ran the fastest times of the season in the 800 meters (1:57.86), 1,500 meters (3:52.12, 2nd all-time at MSUB) and the 5,000 meters (15:19.20, 5th all-time at MSUB)…placed sixth at the GNAC Outdoor Championships in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal-best time of 9:29.70 (6th all-time at MSUB)…also placed sixth at the conference meet in the 1,500 meters with a personal-best time of 3:52.12…placed eighth in the steeplechase at Idaho State University’s Bengal Invitational with a 9:39.57 on April 30…had another top-10 finish at the Bengal Invitational with a 3:54.03 in the 1,500 meters, which was good for 10th place…ran a lifetime-best 15:19.20 5K time at Azusa Pacific University’s Bryan Clay Invitational on April 14…won the 1,500 meters with a 3:58.62 at Black Hills State’s Yellow Jacket Spring Open on March 26…won the 800 meters in 1:57.86 at MSUB’s Yellowjackets/Battlin’ Bears Spring Open on March 19…Named academic all-GNAC.
Indoor Track & Field: Ran personal bests in the 800 (2:00.05, 6th all-time at MSUB), mile (4:14.95, 2nd all-time at MSUB), 3,000-meters (8:41.30, 4th all-time at MSUB) and the 5K (15:20.69, 4th all-time at MSUB)…earned All-GNAC honors for running a leg on MSUB’s distance medley relay team that placed third at the conference meet...was named GNAC Track and Field Athlete of the Week for winning the 5K at Black Hill State’s Dave Little Alumni Mile in 15:20.69 on Jan. 21… qualified for the GNAC Indoor Championships in the mile, 3K and the distance medley relay…placed seventh in the mile at the conference championships with a 4:14.95…finished in 10th place at the conference meet in the 3K with an 8:41.30…took third place out of 39 runners in the mile at the Mountain State Games with a 4:16.67…Won the 800 (2:00.05) and mile (4:22.22) at the Don Holst Open on Jan. 29…opened the season by placing fourth in the mile at Montana State with a 4:22.01.
Cross Country: Had a breakout junior season in which he ran the fourth-fastest 8K time (25:00) and the seventh-fastest 10K time (31:47) in MSUB history…also won his first collegiate race (Gage McSpadden Memorial, 9/17), had four top-10 finishes and was named GNAC Men’s Runner of the Week twice…competed in all six races and was MSUB’s top finisher in five of them…started the season by winning the Gage McSpadden Memorial XC Invite with a 19:21.5 6K time…earned his first GNAC Runner of the Week award after the win…placed fourth at the Montana Open with a 20:52.5 7K on Sept. 24…took second at the University of Providence Open with a 29:20.6 8K on Oct. 1…helped MSUB finish second behind Montana by placing third with a 25:10.3 8K at the Yellowjackets/Battlin’ Bears XC Open on Oct. 8…was named GNAC Runner of the Week for his Yellowjackets/Battlin’ Bears XC Open performance…led the ‘Jackets at the GNAC Cross Country Championships by placing 16th with a 25:00.7, the fourth-fastest 8K time in MSUB history…led the MSUB men’s team to a 12th-place finish (and fifth amongst GNAC teams) at the NCAA DII West Regional race by covering the 10-kilometer course in 31:47, good for 33rd and the seventh-fastest in MSUB history…named academic all-GNAC.
2020-21
Outdoor Track & Field: Competed in eight outdoor meets, including the GNAC Outdoor Championships…ran the team’s fastest times in the 800 meters (1:59.30), 1,500 meters (4:01.56) and the 5,000 meters (15:26.10) — all of which were new collegiate bests…also ran a leg on MSUB’s 4x400 relay once…broke 16 minutes in the 5K for the first time by running a 15:52.80 at the 2021 Yellowjacket Spring Open on March 27…had a runner-up finish in the 1500 meters with a 4:02.77, then went sub-two minutes in the 800 meters for the first time with a 1:59.30 at the Bauer Open on April 9-10…set his personal best in the 5,000 meters at Idaho State’s Bengal Invitational on April 7…placed second in the 1,500 meters and set a new personal best with a 4:01.56 at the Dickinson State Last Chance Meet on May 6…finished in 13th in the 5,000 meters with a 15:27.07 at the GNAC Outdoor Championships on May 16…named academic all-GNAC.

Indoor Track & Field: Competed in all seven indoor meets including the GNAC Indoor Championships...Four top-5 finishes, including three third place finishes...Personal best mile run 4:27.16 for sixth place at the Jacksons/Nike Invitational Feb. 7-8...Personal best and sixth place finish in the 5,000 meters at the Dave Little Alumni Mile Jan. 25...Part of sixth place distance medley relay team at the GNAC Championships Feb. 21-22...Named academic all-GNAC.
Cross Country: Competed in all five meets with an average time of 29:87…placed in the top 70 three times…ran a team-best 29:21:68 (13th) in the Hardrocker C.C. Classic at Robbinsdale Park on Sept. 7…ran a time of 30:31:20 (42nd) at the Rocky Mountain College Invite at Amend Park on Sept. 13.
2018-19
Outdoor Track & Field: Competed in seven events…finished 14th in the GNAC Outdoor Championships with a season best 10:07.04 time in the 3000-meter steeplechase…ran 16:55.03 in the 5000 meters at the Montana State Open and finished second…at the Colorado Invitational had a season best 1500-meter time 4:17.91 (67th place).
Indoor Track & Field: Ran in five events…took 15th place at GNAC Indoor Championships in 3000 meters (9:05.61).
Cross Country: Posted a 13th place finish in the first race of the season at the Hardrocker Classic 8K. Competed in all eight races and finished with an 8K time of 27:55.4 (78th place) at the GNAC Championships...Posted three top-20 finishes as a freshman.
Dawson County High School: Earned four letters in both cross country and track and field under head coach Tom Temple…all-conference selection in track from 2015-17 and in cross country from 2016-17…named team’s 2017 Track MVP…academic all-state selection in cross country from 2015-17 and in track and field in 2017…as a senior in 2017 was the Class A Eastern cross country state runner-up…personal bests in high school include 16:41.2 in the 5k, 10:13.79 in the 3,200-meters…4:36.59 in the 1,600-meters, and 2:05.07 in the 200-meters…younger brother of MSUB track and field javelin All-American Beau Ackerman.
Ackerman on choosing MSUB: “I chose MSUB because it seems to be the best fit for me. I got along well with Coach Woehl, and really felt he would be able to help me to do my best in my running career.”
