Brent Montague

Brent Montague enters his 10th year as the athletics corporate salesperson and director of athletic development at MSU Billings in 2016-17.

Before his return to Yellowjacket athletics in August 2007, Montague spent four years in automotive sales as the manager of Berry’s Auto. He served as an assistant basketball coach for the Yellowjackets from 1996-2003, and also held the position of MSUB’s NCAA compliance officer from 2000-2003.

Montague, a native of Marysville, Wash., played basketball for two seasons at MSU Billings and helped lead the ‘Jackets to the NCAA tournament in 1996. In Montague’s senior season, the Yellowjackets reached the NCAA tournament for the first time in 10 years. He averaged 19.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game that year, leading MSUB to the Pac-West Conference title. That was also the same year MSUB knocked off Oregon State on the Beavers’ home court. Considered one of the cornerstornes in the rejuvenation of the Yellowjacket basketball program, Montague was inducted into the MSU Billings Hall of Fame and Distinction in 2002.

Montague’s responsibilities include soliciting corporate partnership packages to local businesses, coordinating advertising opportunities for corporate partners, increasing enrollment in the Yellowjacket Athletic Association, and organizing the athletic department's two major special events: the annual Scholarship Dinner Auction and the Coca-Cola/Yellowjacket Golf Tournament.
